Polishing the Preparation Outline

Once the preparation outline is written, use it to gauge whether your speech successfully meets the criteria of the assignment. Read through your preparation outline as if you were delivering your speech. Is it too long? Too short? Take note of how long it takes you to read through each main point. Are the main points out of balance? Remember that you want to keep each main point within a similar time frame so that your points are balanced and symmetrical.
